For people caught up in any type of chemical dependency, recovery facilities will provide services aimed at long term sobriety and abstinence from all psychoactive, mood-altering substances. Our first facility, which in the planning stages right now, is a sober living home that will be established in the next few months in South Orange County. theeffect sober living home will not simply provide clients with a sober living environment, but also access to all theeffect's spiritual and recovery programming, counseling, and mentoring.
Clients can work with us while living in our facility or access our recovery and counseling programs while living elsewhere. Working with professionals from all relevant fields, theeffect will create a sober environment and offsite recovery programming that will provide all necessary services from detox (which will be provided through outside, licensed facilities) to substance abuse education, spiritual mentoring, sponsoring, family counseling, relapse prevention, individual sessions, and 12-step meetings. The framework and support of the 12-step model will be central to all programming.
A key point of differentiation from other recovery facilities will be the theeffect’s non-profit status and mindset. Rather than maximizing profits, theeffect will seek to maximize the effectiveness of each and every staff member and program in working with our clients. People are key to the success of any recovery program, but staff members in this industry are working in stressful situations and are often underpaid and overworked with significant turnover due to burnout. theeffect will place its resources directly into areas that maximize theeffect of recovery in our our clients. By well compensating staff and creating effective programming, we will be able to attract the best and most committed workers, and by limiting their working hours in a stressful job, we will minimize burnout and increase staff morale and effectiveness. This philosophy will govern allocation of resources in every area of operation: maximizing the effectiveness of the program is primary, not maximizing profit centers.
